Korean Hand Acupuncture

StimulatorThe hands can be seen as a micro system of the body. The back of the hand correspond to the backside and the palm to the front side. To treat problems on the left side of the body, the left hand is used and for problems on the right side of the body, the right hand. The entire body may be treated from either hand.

Hand stimulators can be used before treatment to stimulate the hands and prepare them for point location. This is also a form of self treatment.

Using a probe, or point locator, the acupuncturist search for sensitive points and marks them. After all sensitive points have been localized, a small pellet is placed on the point and secured with surgical tape. The patient may press on the pellet several times a day, gently massage it, to give the point an extra stimulation.

The pellet should be retained overnight and can be removed in the morning, but saved. The following evening the patient will then re-apply the pellet to clean, dry hands, on the point that has been marked, using a secondary tape to keep them in place.

The pellets can be reused until they lose their bright appearance or are coated with skin oils.
